Have you seen the recent Hindi movies?Have you considered taking a close look at them?
I mean what the hell are they trying to manufacture?Are we a mindless bunch of people ,
who just worry about entertainment and we don't mind how mindless or shameless it can
be...how downgraded or obsolete the jokes are and how profane or vulgarized the dialogs
may be...? We are just bothered about entertainment..our own entertainment which we value
so much that we don't care what kind of stuff is being thrown at us every Friday.
Ya ya we all work the whole week and at the end of the week we want to be entertained...
but why it be mindless? Why don't we have some intelligent work,a work of art,a work of
genius,even though its made in some tight budget and reasonable production value. And I
don't know what is this fascination with comedy movies...everyone is watching comedy...every
one is making comedy..even everyone is ready to produce some senseless cheap comedy...why..?
And if its not a comedy than its a worthless action flick with an inherent motive to prove some
bizzare facts which don't suit our mentality and end up in making sheer mockery of our own
selves...I would not like to elaborate but terms like "RAW of Indian Army" and "Al-zohara" in a
recent so-called international political thriller hindi Movie compel me to say something for
my current state of mind.Why don't you take permission to use actual names..it will lend some
authenticity to the movie...atleast some.But who bothers...we Indians( who don't watch english or any
other foreign movies) don't go into the technicalities...from childhood onwards we all have been
fed such useless stuff that leaves no room for minute details...or some real names or some real
world problems...because all we care is about entertainment...how unreal it may be...how
lackluster it may be or how demeaning it may be.

The other thing thats scaring me is the "naach-gaana" which already is a hallmark of our
movies.Why can't we live without it.Whats so special in this worthless,time wasting activity,
I just can't understand.Special Arrangements are made to shoot a song sequence,money is wasted,
resources are wasted,energy is wasted..why...because we,the audience, find it entertaining.
We enjoy the hip-gyrating movements done by the female actors..even some go to the movie
just to watch a song or item-number. If you ask some globally well-known star(ofcourse,
I don't mean a hindi movie superstar) like George Clooney "Do you like hindi movies".He
quips "Ya ya, I like the dancing they do,around the trees and all". He neither likes it
nor he enjoys it and even this can be true that he hasn't even watched a hindi movie ever.
But as is the perception of our movies that he thinks there's only dancing...we are good at.

The other thing thats worth worrying is the amount of money being pumped into these movies
nowadays.Have you noticed the amount of movies being produced or made nowadays...you can
easily notice the difference in number of movies generated today as compared to the small
number,say 6-8 years back...the coming of multiplexes and the jumping of various business
houses into movie production and distribution has led to this change.The producers now have
become very care-free and audacious because they know that they'll make the movie once and
sell it to some production house...the rest of the headache of publicity,distribution etc.
now belongs to the production house,while producers will continue to reap rich benefits
afterwards,so they dont worry that their product is worth watching,well-made making good-sense or
not...they are just ready to produce more and more of this useless garbage.

so where this all is taking us,our entertainment industry...??...NOWHERE..
Though we may have progressed in cameras,shooting techniques,lighting,some other technical
aspects but in terms of good movie-making...we are nowhere.Who says you need a big bugdet,
futuristic special effects and only over-priced stars to tell a good story(although many of
us doesn't support this viewpoint)...over the years well-scripted,well-made movies with
under-rated actors who give their all in terms of performances(and not in asking for big
amounts of money) have done well.But whats that to us...why do we bother about perfomers,
why we give a damn to a movie that doesnt contain outdoor location songs,heroines showing
thighs and plunging neck-lines,a movie without over-paid stars...why should we watch it..?
"Are bhai film me to koi gaana hi nahi hai...! fir hum kya karenge dekh ke..ye film to flop
hai !!" All we care is our entertainment.
